There are three main joys in my
life;
Fitness – running, weight training and
competing
Travelling – experiencing new cultures
and meeting new people in our amazing world
Family & Friends – you are a product
of those whom you surround yourself by
Fitness
is my passion. It all started with my involvement in sports as
I child – baseball, volleyball, basketball, waterskiing,
and track to name a few. I loved competition, and was blessed
with athleticism thanks to my Mom and Dad - both the physical
ability and the emotional determination necessary to succeed.
After high school, I turned to running, and found my biggest competitor
to be within myself. With each run, I wanted to run farther and
do it in better time. I became quite familiar with “the
runners high” - who needs a coffee after an invigorating
morning run?! Due to a stress fracture in the neck of my femur,
I was unable to run for 6 months. It was during this time that
I discovered weight training. This quickly developed into another
inner challenge – I found each day another body part to
sculpt and another weight just screaming to be added to the stack.
A year later, and after going through a life-altering tragedy,
Kary Odiatu (now my friend and personal trainer) inspired
me with the world of Fitness and Fitness Competitions. I found
I could combine all the pleasures of my life - my love of running
and weight-training with competition while travelling and meeting
new and amazing people! There was no turning back. Pictures of
Trish Stratus, Monica Brant, Mia Finnegan and Chris Lydon began
to now cover my walls.
My Competitive history started in 2002 locally and has expanded
since to competitions in Miami, Las Vegas and Toronto. Through
these competitions I have received a lot of media exposure –
something this small town country girl never dreamed of. Who ever
thought that athletic and modelling could be used in the same
sentence! It’s only recently I have decided to put more
focus on pursuing modeling with a greater force. Now, you can
see photos of me in various media from local papers to magazines
such as Oxygen and Planet Muscle, to my first cover on Florida
Physique Magazine! I have also started to work in film and will
be exploring that avenue more in the future. More doors are opening
and I can hardly wait to see what’s behind the next one!
For now, my focus is on enjoying my life to its fullest and that
takes more than just a hard, toned physique - real beauty comes
from within and is shown in your eyes, through your heart and
shared with everyone around you.
